Internet-connected toothbrush
The Kolibree toothbrush claims to be the world's first Internet-connected toothbrush. It analyzes your brushing and lets you track your habits over time through an app for Android and iOS devices. The toothbrush contains a sensor that tracks the areas of your mouth that you're brushing, and will let you know what sections might need a little more attention. To use it, simply download the Kolibree mobile app on your smartphone and sync it with the brush via Bluetooth. After that, every time you tend to your pearly whites, the brush will log data from your session. When you’re done, just pop open the app and it’ll display all the data in a simple visual format. The app can even record data from multiple brushes, so if any of you parents out there have ever wanted a way to make sure your kids are brushing every night (and avoid a massive dentist bill), this thing might be well worth the investment.

The toothbrush will also be able to talk to other applications on your phone, so an enterprising developer could, for instance, create a game controlled by your toothbrush. You could score points for chasing monsters among your teeth. Serval says that one day, it'll be possible to replace the brush on the handle with a brushing unit that also has a camera. The camera can examine your cavities and tartar while you brush. Forget selfies -- the next adventure in self-expression could be close-up guided tours of people's teeth.  The company says the Kolibree will go on sale this summer, for $99 to $199, depending on features. The US is the first target market.
